The Social Detachment Problem of Digitization

The social detachment problem explores modern digitization and a plausible solution. For years I’ve worked on a concept called Ahava, built around a simple truth: humans are spending more time staring at screens and less time forming meaningful relationships. Our digital tools keep us stimulated but not supported. Ahava’s core idea is that AI can reverse this trend by gently nudging people back into real life — increasing the probability of genuine in-person interaction without compromising privacy. Instead of optimizing for screen-time, Ahava optimizes for human connection, transforming everyday moments into opportunities for community and belonging.
